Not sure, it could be several things. I do not use MGSO, just MGE XE (with max shaders, but no distant land), run at 120+ FPS, and I have a GTX 970 as well. Pretty sure your CPU should be perfectly capable as well.The overhaul adds lots of things that are not designed to be run with MW's engine, like high-res texures & meshes with a polygon count thats in the tens-of-thousands for a piece of armor that had less than 1k polys in vanilla. Add unto that basically doubled foliage, more NPCs, AND distant land, and your game is probably just choked to death. BUT this is mostly speculation from what I know, not from personal experience.My advice would be to crank the distant land settings down first to see if that helps.

Not sure how playing the game @ 640 x 480 makes you a man, but whatevers. He wants to squint let him have at it;)I don't use the Overhaul, but I do use MGE XE and high res texture packs. The combination of distant land and high res textures will kill your FPS if distant land is set for too many cells.
So, as cookiemonster said, try scaling it back a bit.MGE settings like Blur Reflections for water will also eat a lot of unnecessary FPS.No idea why your DOF shader isn't working, try enabling the shaders in the order suggested by MGE if you haven't.
