If you’ve been playing a lot of lately — maybe you’re leveling a Necromancer, or maybe you just like Season play like I do — then that the patch 2.6.1 PTR is live will possibly come as a surprise. After all, and haven’t been live long, and 2.6.1 is a pretty large patch with changes to classes, drop rates, and legendary items, which will affect various classes and their damaging abilities.First up we see changes to Barbarian and Crusader abilities that seem aimed at helping with game performance more than anything else, but a good deal of changes to the Necromancer. That’s not really surprising — it is the newest class and while it was tested before launch, there are always issues that are discovered once many more players start playing a class. Some of the changes to Necromancers also seem oriented around game performance issues, although some are also bug fixes.The item changes are oriented around flat out damage buffs, by and large.
Pretty much every item listed increases damage in some fashion, buffing abilities or otherwise strengthing damage output. Legendaries and set items are having their drop rates increased, which I view as a positive since I’ve been farming for the Immortal King’s Boulder Breaker forever and still haven’t gotten an Ancient one. Several class sets are also getting significant damage buffs, likely to bring them in line with legendaries.You can read the patch notes below for further details, or head on to the PTR now if you’re interested in testing them out.
May 4, 2014 - Diablo 3 Legendary Drop Rates Revealed. Weighted odds for every set and legendary item in Reaper of Souls, leaked and datamined secrets. Primal items in patch 2.5.0. As of patch 2.5.0, each Ancient Legendary or Set item has a much lower chance to drop as a Primal item. This unlocks when any character on an account successfully beats a rank 70 Greater Rift in solo. Drops are unlocked for all characters of the same type, so Normal/Seasonal and Softcore/Hardcore characters must unlock them separately.
I'm Krathos, one of the Diablo III Malaysia (MY) clan officers and today I would like to share the best way to get.Primal Ancient. quality items that you want.
Before I begin I would like to say thank you to our clan leader, Armageddon, fellow officers and most of all to fellow brethren of the MY clan for the support and continued commitment. I also would like to point out that this is my first time posting Diablo III game guide. So I wanted apologies in advance for any mistakes or misspoken words made by me. Furthermore, I didn’t considered myself as pro or very good Diablo III player but I am committed to be so I always looking up various ways to improve my gameplay. All that I write here is the method improvised by myself resulting from my many trials and mistakes along with hours of research.
So I hope you guys sit tight and enjoy reading my piece.Patch 2.5 release a new type of quality of gear called Primal Ancient which only start to drop after we cleared Greater Rift 70. But it seem Primal Ancient is extremely rare to drop than other quality type of item. From what I’ve learned its drop chance is 0.3% from Ancient quality items. So this begged us the question how long will it takes to get 1 Primal that we really want among other thousands Primal that we didn’t want or use. If we continued to just do the constant grinding over and over and over again until we found the Primal we want I say it will take more than 1 year just to finish 1 class build that we use. Even that if we get lucky each time Primal drop is the one that we will use.
Most of the time Primal that drop is always useless or we won’t even use it for certain build. So is there any faster way we can finish our dream of having full Primal Ancient build? Well today is your lucky day because I think I found one of the fastest way to make your dream come true and I really would like to share it with you guys. There’s might be some of you guys thinking this is the reforge through Kanai’s Cube method.
I’m guarantee you it is not and you might want to reconsider to continue reading. There are requirement, methods and tricks in order to make this work. I’ll begin with requirement first. I’ll make this section short because there is no extensive explanation needed here unless you are a newbie who hasn’t complete any set and still wasn’t sure what items you needs which you shouldn’t focusing on Primal farming. These are the list of requirement you going to need for using this method;.

Blood shards. LOTS of all 5 crafting materials; Reusable parts, arcane dust, crystal veiled, death breath & forgotten soul. LOTS of all 5 bounty materials(optional); Khanduran Rune, Caldeum Nightshade, Arreat War Tapestry, Corrupted Angel Flesh & Westmarch Holy Water. METHODSo there are 5 step that you going to be using for the method but before we going into that you need to know that Diablo III is using Random Numbers Generators (RNG) system for loot drop. Every time u start a new game, RNG will be reset to new loot table and loot pool.
Furthermore, this loot pool is limited meaning not all legendary items is listed as droppable. I will explain more about RNG in another post if request is high but right now you have an idea how this system work and that all that matters. So what we going to do is we going to limit the pool and the amount of random numbers that are occuring for us to get our piece. Now lets go to method number 1. We will start with regular drops. Regular drop is triggered when you kill an enemy. Regular drop is the least accurate of getting the piece that you want.
Is very unlikely you will get the piece you are aiming but if it does then you are one lucky son of a gun. Obviously this is not the best nor the fastest method to use for farming high tier items that u aiming but most players including myself before only using this method whether realizing it or not. By killing enemy (preferably elites and above because most likely these type of enemy will drop items) the RNG will start working. It doesn’t matter what type of quality the enemy drop whether its white, blue or yellow, whenever any item drop its the sign that RNG is working. Thus bring us to the next step. After you killed enemy that drop items you need to teleport back to nearest town for our next step to limiting the pool of items you going to get in order to increase the chance the item you want. That is going to be spent blood shard on Kadala.
Make sure the blood shard you spent on Kadala is fixed to one type of item category that you aiming e.g. 1-Handed weapon for dagger, mighty weapon etc. Why is this better than killing enemies all day long and relying on that method? Because by doing this you limiting your pool to only 1-Handed weapon and cut out 90% of other items part; helmets, glove, shoulder etc. And pulling from the pool of just 1-Handed weapons; axe, mace, dagger etc.
This brings us to the step 3. By spending blood shard on Kadala, your odds of getting items that you want is increase tremendously but there’s still a chance that its going to be white, blue or yellow. As you can see your odds is better but not as high as you need to get the Primal piece that you want. So what you going to do to increase this even more is using the Hope of Cain: Upgrade Rare Item recipe through Kanai’s Cube.
You can upgrade rare items from the one that you get from Kadala or craft the rare type of the piece you want if you didn’t have 1. This is by far the best odds that you have at getting item in the game that you specifically seek. This is the core step of the method so always use this as your forefront way to get the Primal or whatever quality you need because your pool is now very small by limiting your RNG to simply the specific type of items you want along with removing white, blue or rare thus giving you legendary quality.
But keep in mind that its not going to be 100% guarantee you going to get exactly what you want because there is still other uncontrollable element such as rarity for each legendary items e.g Shard of Hate is rarer than Skycutter so you will most likely getting more of Skycutter than Shard of Hate. Other than that is various list of legendary for type of items e.g. If you looking for mighty belt let say Girdle of Giants it would be harder to get it because there also chances you will get other 6 legendary mighty belt. Still other than that this is best way to narrow down your odds. Now lets wrap this 1 to the next step. Normally you should already get at least one Primal by now but you still didn’t get the one you need.
Keep in mind that I consider this steps as optional or last resort as its really expensive way to get the exact Primal that you want. Trust me it will drain your resources dry and you might not be glad doing it. From my experience this step only work once.
But if you still stubborn or feeling lucky and ready to feel disappointed then go for it. Like I said above there’s still other uncontrollable element.
You can remove those element with higher cost through Law of Kulle: Reforge Legendary recipe. With 5 of each bounty materials + 50 forgotten soul for each time you re-roll, you have a chance of converting legendary that you want to be made into Primal version. All you have to do is keep re-rolling it until your required materials is dried and you started to smash your keyboard or you get lucky and have the Primal version of it. As you can see this is really expensive way to get Primal piece that you want. I strongly recommend you skip this step or just do it 1 time for each game like me.
I can’t confirm nor prove this but sometime I get the feeling that if i re-roll specific item that I seek, the likelihood it drop as primal will increased when I continue farming. So I did do this step but I only do it 1 time. Thus bring us to next step.
This step is simple but essential. All the step above is the best way to get Primal but as you can see it drain your resources as its require blood shard, craft materials and bounty materials. So step 5 is do normal farming as you did always.
This is your chance to farm your resource for future use. But this time your drop is not as normal as before because this time you farming with completely different RNG effected by the step you took above. But remember those RNG settings will be reset if you leave the game or create new game. So I suggest after complete 4 step above spare some time to do normal farming. That its for method section and lets go to next section. So here we are at the end of the guide.
This section is the final pieces of The Best Way To Get Primal You Want. This section is for those who already follow all the steps but didn’t get the Primal as promised and starting to lose hope. Even worst you will leave angry rant and inappropriate comment which I wish to avoid as for this is my first guide. So here the good news for you unlucky people. Anyone who cleared Greater Rift 70 will have equal chance of getting primal. It just a matter of time and RNG. But what you might not know each primal that drop has different stats on it.
Lets say A & B get the same Primal Ancient Set glove. But both even tho it similar it is unlikely will be the same. What I mean is the different between those 2 glove is the stats on it. A might get main att, vit, resist & CDR stat on it meanwhile B has main stat, resist, crit chance & crit dmg. Most of high tier GR player will say B has a better glove than A.

I learned from hours of research that the longer you didn’t get your primal the better primal you will get later. RNG system always keep the best for last. That’s what make this game great! So don’t envy or lose hope when you see someone has found the primal you seek because those people who get earlier primal than you can be considered a bit unlucky than you because they get weaker version of the primal.This bring us to the finale of the guide.
